Yarn Porn Friday

It's been a very long time since I've had any yarn porn. I wonder if people are still doing yarn porn Friday... Anyway I was taking some picture of my stash for Ravelry and I thought I'd share :)

Up first is some Yarn Pirate Superwash Merino Sock in Dahlia. I bought for a friend for x-mas who I haven't seen yet so it may make it's way into my stash :)

Next we have Persephone by Flawful Fibers and Yarns. It is 100% Merino fingering weight. I've spun many of her rovings and this is my first yarn from her. I love it and can't wait to make a pair of socks with it!

WIPs and a Book Review, 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet

009 I cast on for this scarf last night. It is the Lace Scarf from Vogue Knitting. I'm using Bollicine Revolution that I found at Webs for super cheap. I really really really love this yarn and if I had the $$ I'd stash a bunch. When I saw this pattern I knew I had to make it! I'm using 2 strands at once on size 17 needles, I don't have 19s. It's turning out really nice. I really liked this issue of Vogue, it had a ton of cute patterns!
008I finished the cuff on Dh's new socks. I'm getting the hang of the 2 socks on the 2 Cirs.
007 I'm still plugging away at the Jaywalkers and am still in love with this yarn!
001This is a scarf I made for the shop, I used some Tahki Veletta that I got for knitting a pair of socks for someone a couple of years ago. The red is the last of my bulky Misti Alpaca I used for a scarf a few years ago.

I have a book review for you! I was able to get my hands on 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet by Lesley Stanfield. OMG this book is wonderful. The photographs are beautiful the instructions are clear and concise. There is 40 knitted patterns and 60 crocheted. The pattern ideas in the back are super cute! Along with the flower patterns there are fruits and veggies and even a couple of bugs. I really like that there is several different leaf patterns to go with the flower. I think that if you plan on doing any embellishing you need this book!

Well I think that's all I've got today. Oh wait, I have some base yarn and plan to start dyeing again soon. The base is different then my old one. I really like it so far. I think you'll get longer life out of you socks with this one, and it's still soft. Let's hope it take dye well!

A Clean Office and Some WIP

001 I've been needing to clean my office forever! It had turned in to a dumping gound wile I was preggos and after Lily came. I'm so happy to get my books off the ground and my sock yarn out so I can see it...It's mostly green and blue...I had no clue that was all I had...Those crazy skeins are ones Gooey dyed and I have no clue what to do with, they are so fugly I don't think I can make socks for her in them.....
002 My poor wheel is still a bit dusty...
003
004
005 Here is where I am on the Jaywalkers. OMG I'm loving this sock!!!
006 This is that little top/dress for Lily. I'm not real sure if it's going to work out...
007Here is the finished 5th clue on the shawl. After this one is finished I think I want to knit one from the new IK.

Crap Lily's fussing...

A Post With Words...maybe

002Yay! Finished Socks!! Here are my finished Spring Flings from Knitty. I used CTH in Spring Frost. I really liked the pattern. It was fun to knit and the lace was super easy. The heels and toes were a little wierd, you had to move sts around and stuff. Other then that I really liked this pattern.

003 This is my 2nd pair of Jaywalkers. I made a pair for my sister a few years ago. I'm using Yarning Yenta Sock in Kermit Loves Piggy. I really love this yarn. I had knit another sock with it over a year ago and didn't like it with this yarn so I frogged it and set it aside. I think this yarn is perfect for the Jaywalkers! I love the colors, and after the Spring Forward socks I just felt I need some brightness. This picture was taken over the weekend, I'm just about to start the heel.
004 Well I thought it was about time to learn some thing new. I always have a pair of man socks on the needles...and they get soooo boring. I picked up the book and some cirs for socks hoping this would make knitting man socks more fun and much faster. So far I like it, I do keep getting my yarn balls all twisted up. I'm using the pattern from The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. The yarn is Elann Sock It to Me 4 Ply. The yarn is super soft and fuzzy. I really like it so far. I do feel like I'd have more done if I'd used DPN, but then I remember that I'm doing both of them at the same time...
086 Dh took Gooey to see The "World Famous" Lipizzaner Stallions
058
They had tons of fun. The pictures are super crappy. DH took his "work" camera because it's smaller then the Mavica. Well it's new and he doesn't know how to use it very well yet. But you get the idea, right?

007 Gooey got her first real hair cut yesterday. Her hair was so long and thick. I was having a hard time keeping up with it and she couldn't do it yet. So off it went. I like it. She seems too also. I think now she looks like a 5yo. With the longer hair she looked much older.

I'm still working on the shawl. Clue 5 came out on Friday and I almost had it done yesterday..but I jacked it up pretty bad. I looked at it and looked at it and just couldn't live with my mistake so I ripped it back to just where I wanted it and started over. In most cases I'm not very good at ripping back and I had no life line. What I did is picked a spot and ran another needle and ripped down to that. Really I couldn't believe it worked and I didn't have to frog the whole damn thing. I'll get a pic up when I finish the clue. I also started and frogged and want to start again a little spring/summer dress for Spawn. I'll post more about that when I restart it.

Oh OH OH my office is soooo almost clean. I just have to put my knitting books away and move a few things around. My wheel is up there waiting for me to play with it! I have my drum carder set up and ready with a basket of fiber ready to be carded in to fluffy goodness! There is a spot up there for Spawn to play!!! WOOO HOOO! I'm hopeing to get up there today to finish it up. I've been kinda itching to spin and my poor wheel needs to be dusted and oiled before she ups and runs away to live with someone else who loves her more.

Well that pretty much all I have. The girls are doing great. Lily is still Lily but getting better every week. Oh as you can see I turned off the comments. I was getting nasty ones from a few people who have no life and think I owe them an explanation. Here's what I have to say about this. I don't know you, I don't care what you think. I have much more important things to worry about like, say real life. The people who I know and matter know I was as blindsided with this as everyone else if not more so. Get a life and fuck off.

Off the Needles and Hooks

009 I'm having a crochet thing going on right now. Here are some little crocheted shoes I made for Lily. This is the 2nd pair I made, the first ones (the brown and pink ones) were a little small. It took me about a day to finish them working on them off and on.
005 ohh the cuteness is killing me!
027 Here are the ones that are too small.
013 The FIL socks are finished :)
015and my shawl...this is a picture of clues 1-4 finished.

I'm still working on my 2nd Spring Forward Sock...past the heel now...Soon I'll blog with more words.
